Every coffee roaster in New Zealand we have been able to find — 292 of them. We read 23 shops every night and price the bags per 100g; the rest are here with their town and their own link, because a roaster with no web shop is still a roaster.
We read these shops every night. Prices, sizes and stock are theirs; the arithmetic is ours.
Everyone we know of, north to south. Roasters on the shelf link to their page here; the rest link straight to their own shop.
Know a roaster we've missed?
Their name and their town is plenty. We check before anyone goes on the list, and we never publish who told us.
This list is a census, not a membership: nobody applies and nobody pays. We built it by reading national directories, association member lists, regional sweeps and a competitor's own collaboration archive, and every row cites where it came from.
23 of them we price-track — we read their shop every night and put the bags on the shelf. The other 269 are here because they exist. 50 have no website we could find at all, which is a fact about the roaster and not a reason to leave them out.
Held back on purpose: 18 businesses we found are recorded as unsure whether they roast their own, and 56 turned out not to roast at all — cafés with a house blend made for them, machine suppliers, an importer or two. They are kept out of this page and kept in our records so the next sweep does not re-find them.
A census goes stale the day it is finished. If we have you in the wrong place, under the wrong name, or not at all, the box below reaches a human.
